About
IPJC
Our
Vision
The Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center, living out of a shared
Christian faith tradition, recognizes and respects the dignity of all
persons and all creation.
Our
Mission
The Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center promotes just structures
in the church and world, with a particular focus on the Pacific
Northwest. IPJC is sponsored by sixteen religious communities and collaborates
with Catholic, ecumenical, interfaith and other organizations in carrying
out this mission.
Our
History
IPJC was founded in 1991 as a collaborative venture to address issues
of peace and justice.
We are a non-profit 501c3 organization networking
with a broad range of community and religious groups.
Our
Center
We are located in the Roosevelt District. Directions to our center.
Governing
Council
IPJC is directed by our Governing Council, which consists of a representative
from each of the leadership teams of our Sponsoring Communities, as well
as the Executive and Program Directors. By including staff within the
circle of governing responsibility, IPJC attempts to model inclusive and
collaborative processes for decision-making.
Our
Sponsors
IPJC is supported primarily by our sponsoring religious communities, who
established and have maintained IPJC since 1991. Each Sponsoring Community
provides a representative of its Leadership Team to serve on the IPJC
Governing Council. IPJC also is supported by Affiliate Communities.
